Yeah its true. I'm glad you realized that.
When it comes to us(blacks) its expected from us.
Sometimes when we focus on the deformities of our own surroundings, we fail to realize whats going on in the rest of the world.
Punk is supposed to be a demeaning word. But they took it and made it a part of culture. Like blacks, took the bad and made it good. Just like you said.

Things like fatherless kids, criminal behavior, and living life for today and dying early isn't a black thing
It's a social class thing
Punks started in Europe, coming from the poorest of regions
And those who came out ended up making music about their lives and culture
