I love how the rules of fight club are in the back, his face is covered in blood, and you can still see his eyes through the glasses. Allot of people just make sunglasses solid and never show what under them.

My theory

Im not sure of its origins but I think its popular because its iPhone app is mindlessly fun. All you have to do is fly in space... and it tells you how long. hours goes by and all you've achieved was 3:24 of flying carelessly through space. Its addicting and simple.
